RELEASE NOTES
Formal competency sign-off with overall feedback, optional stages and job description updates that reach existing staff in Compassly v2.1.
Competency authors can now choose to end a competency with a formal sign-off once its stages are complete, instead of it completing automatically when the last stage is done. This gives one clear point where someone reviews the whole record and takes responsibility for it.
Who can sign off is a permission each organisation sets, so sign-off sits with the people your governance requires.
When signing off, the supervisor can add overall feedback on the competency, for example to commend someone or to note something to work on. Supervisors can also leave overall feedback at the end of each stage, beyond their comments on individual questions.
Competency authors can now mark a stage as optional, which gives more flexibility in how a competency is assessed. Optional stages might let someone upload a course certificate, take an additional assessment, or complete a knowledge check where it would help them.
Optional stages don't count towards progress, so a competency can be completed without them and nobody is held up.
Job description templates change over time. When your organisation updates a template, Compassly now applies the change to everyone who already has that job description, as well as to new staff.
Removing a competency from a template takes it off the job description but not out of the person's Passport, so their progress is kept. When a Supervisor adds a job description to someone, they now see its competencies grouped into those the person already holds and those that are new, and can review the full content of the existing competency records.
Competency authors can now set how many successful attempts the same stage needs in different competencies, and at different points in a competency's lifecycle. A common example is three successful formative assessments to gain a competency and a single pass to renew it, but the numbers are entirely up to the author.
This means one stage can be reused across competencies, so a change is made once and the latest version is reflected everywhere it is used.
People can now add more than one email address and phone number to their account, and choose which to use when they join each organisation. This helps anyone who uses an email address specific to their work at one organisation and a different one elsewhere.
You can now search for specific names within lists of colleagues, which saves scrolling in larger organisations.
Try it now in Compassly, or contact us to book a demo.
