Change a completion due date

A desk calendar with one date crossed out and a later date circled in green, with a pencil beside it.

Sometimes a person needs longer to complete a competency, for example after sickness, parental leave or a period of covering for absent colleagues. Managers can now be given the discretion to change the completion due date on that person's competency, giving more flexibility when circumstances change.

Compassly records every change: who made it, when, and the date it moved from and to. That keeps a clear trail for anyone reviewing the record later.

Competency authors and organisations stay in control. Authors can lock a competency's completion due date so it cannot be changed, and organisations choose which roles have permission to change it, with Managers as the default. Nobody can change the due date on their own competency.

People without a job description

A list of four people with one row highlighted, showing a small folder and a green tick, next to an open folder.

People added to Compassly without a job description are not assigned any competencies, and are not automatically placed under anyone's management. Sometimes that is deliberate, for people in admin or reporting roles, so the Dashboard now shows everyone in your organisation without a job description, and this group can be easily monitored.

It means that when someone joins before their role is settled, or is added mainly to supervise others, they are not overlooked later on.
