RELEASE NOTES
Add people by joining code, choose optional packages, keep competency changes consistent and filter competencies by status in Compassly v3.4.
Supervisors can now add someone to an organisation without scanning their QR code. The person joining shares the unique six-character joining code shown with their QR code, and the Supervisor types it in. For security, each code is only valid for 24 hours.
This helps when a camera is blocked or unavailable, when you are using the web app, or when you are not both in the same place.
A package is a set of competencies, each marked as core or optional within it, linked to the roles and places it applies to. Packages themselves can now be set as optional too, so when a Supervisor assigns a job description, they choose whether each optional package is included.
This is useful when only some people in a role need a particular set of competencies, or when staff need training before those competencies apply to them. It also gives organisations more flexibility, as some packages can be offered as optional across the organisation without being tightly mapped to every role.
The names of competencies and stages can change over time, and records need to show both the latest name and the name used at the time. Compassly now shows the latest, live name everywhere, alongside the name used at the time where it is relevant.
Changes to completion due dates now reach people part way through a competency, and changes to renewal periods also reach people who have completed it.
Any completion due date a Supervisor has changed by hand stays as it was. Updates that people can choose whether to apply are now labelled "Optional update" instead of "Major update", which better describes them.
Lists of competencies can now be filtered by status, such as Not started, In progress, Completed or Expired. The status filter works alongside the existing filters, so you can combine it with Late to see which competencies are most at risk.
It helps Supervisors quickly find the people whose competencies have expired, are in progress but late, or have not been started, so they can take the action needed straight away.
People who work across several organisations can now search for a specific organisation by name in their list, and return to that list more quickly from inside an organisation.
If camera access is turned off for Compassly, the app now explains why the QR code scanner can't open and how to turn access back on.
We've also reworked the screen that shows who can review your work, to make it clearer for staff who are unsure who should supervise them.
Try it now in Compassly, or contact us to book a demo.
