Programme leads and approved preceptors

A programme lead wearing a rosette stands between two preceptors, with green lines linking her to each of them and a green tick on each preceptor.

Each programme can now have named Programme Leads. Leads keep the list of approved preceptors for their programmes and assign supervisors to each person's record, and approved preceptors can assign themselves.

Only approved preceptors, or organisation admins, can be assigned as supervisors, so the right people support each preceptee. The programme dashboard now shows the leads and approved preceptors for each programme and any preceptees who do not yet have a supervisor, and programme progress also appears on the Colleagues tab.

The real completion date

A desk calendar with one date ticked and a pencil

When approving a manual completion, Supervisors can now set the date the work was actually completed, rather than the day it was approved. This works for competencies, stages, programmes and milestones, defaults to today and cannot be set in the future. The record then reflects when the work actually happened, and the renewal timeline follows on from that date automatically.

Assessing outside your teams

Managers, Super Managers and Admins could already scan a colleague's Compassly QR code to assess someone outside their teams. Assessors can now do the same.

For an Assessor, scanning gives access for assessment only, not to add or register people.

Exporting from your library

Organisation admins can now export competencies and programmes from the library as a CSV file, at any level and including everything below it. The file uses the same format as import, so content can be edited outside Compassly and imported again.

Renewals without a separate sign-off

A renewal loop circles a competency card, and an arrow leads straight to a certificate whose seal shows a green tick.

Admins can now set renewals to complete without a separate supervisor sign-off, while the main competency still needs one. This gives more flexibility where a simple renewal can be completed automatically, even if the main competency needs specific sign-off.

Other improvements

Before a competency is completed, its overview now shows how long it will last once completed, or that it does not expire. People waiting for final sign-off see a banner saying so, and the renewal route chosen now shows on the stages screen and on history tiles.

We have always kept the full audit trail for older records, and now everyone can see it in the app. That includes stages that were in progress when a record was failed, revoked or updated.

For those with access to web reporting, we can now build you custom reports that include user profile pictures and your organisation logo.
