Competency certificates that always show today's status

Anyone relying on a colleague's competence needs to know it is valid today. Every completed competency in Compassly comes with a certificate that anyone can check in seconds, with no account needed, and it always shows the current status.

Clear proof on one page

When someone completes a competency, Compassly creates a certificate for it automatically. It shows their name and profile picture, the competency, which organisation authored it and which organisation it was completed under, when it was completed and who assessed and signed it off. Where a competency needs renewing, it also shows when it was last renewed and when it next expires, so a manager, a new employer or a regulator has everything they need at a glance.

Always the current status

Competencies can expire, be renewed or be invalidated by your organisation while concerns about practice are looked at. A Compassly certificate is built from the person's record every time it is opened, so it always reflects where the competency stands, and an invalidated competency shows as invalidated, with the date, until it is revalidated.

A saved or printed copy shows the date and time it was issued, and its QR code always leads to the current version, so even a printed copy can be checked against today's record.

Check it in seconds

Every certificate carries a QR code and a short link. Anyone who needs to check, such as a ward manager before a cover shift or an education lead welcoming a new starter, can scan it and see the latest version in their browser, with no Compassly account or login. The check opens on app.compassly.com, so they can be confident they are seeing the real record.

The link and QR code stay the same each time a competency is renewed. The certificate already in someone's file stays current, and there is nothing to reissue or chase.

See what sits behind it

Anyone relying on a certificate can see how it was earned, so it carries the confidence of the full record behind it.

Who assessed it. A certificate names the people who assessed each stage, signed the competency off or reviewed evidence of earlier achievement.

How it was completed. Where someone showed they had already achieved a competency, the certificate says it was completed retrospectively, and where nobody else assessed it, it says it was self-assessed.

Registration numbers. People can add their professional registration number to their account, and it then appears on their certificates, so the competency can be checked against the professional register too. This is live for pharmacists today and can be extended to other professions, so speak to us if you have a particular use for it.

Always to hand

When a competency is completed or renewed, the email confirming it links to the certificate and attaches a PDF, and certificates open in the iOS and Android apps too. Every certificate is also kept in the person's lifelong learning passport, which they retain access to when they move on, so their proof of competence goes with them to their next role. Our page on working across organisations explains how.
