A lifelong learning passport that moves with your staff

Clinical careers involve learning across many roles and organisations. Compassly gives each person one learning record that goes with them, while every organisation keeps complete control of how its own learning programmes work.

One login, every organisation

Clinical staff often work for more than one organisation at a time, through rotations, bank shifts and joint posts. In Compassly each person has one account and a separate profile at each organisation they work with, so they can switch between organisations in the app in a couple of taps, while following each organisation's own controls.

Each profile holds that person's work in that organisation: their roles, teams, supervisors and access. People can also use a different email address or phone number for each organisation, whichever is most relevant or compliant there, which gives them flexibility to work across organisations while each one keeps the governance it needs.

Learning that's always accessible

Everything a person achieves is kept in their passport, across every organisation they have worked in. When they move on, they retain access to their record and certificates, ready to share with their next employer.

A passport can be viewed anywhere, but it is only added to inside an organisation. Every new sign-off is authorised by the organisation responsible for it, so the chain of governance stays clear wherever a record travels.

No starting from scratch

When someone joins an organisation that uses the same or a linked competency, for example from a shared national framework, what they have already completed counts from day one. They spend their first weeks on what is new to them rather than proving what they have already shown, and their new organisation can see straight away where to focus support.

Organisations still add what matters locally. A shared competency can carry an organisation's own references, such as its local policy, and can ask new joiners to complete a short localisation on local policies or equipment before it counts.

Ready for groups and networks

Compassly works just as well for a group of hospitals or services as for a single organisation. Each keeps its own organisation in Compassly, linked to the others, so staff who work across sites use one login and don't repeat training they have already completed elsewhere in the group.

Group leaders get a combined view across every organisation through web reporting dashboards. Groups can also bring everyone onto common standards one competency at a time, without disrupting anyone's work: new starters get the group version straight away, and everyone else moves across when their renewal comes up.

Every organisation stays in control

However freely people move, each organisation keeps complete control of its own space in Compassly.

Its own view. Inside an organisation, everything people see belongs to it: colleagues, teams, roles, supervision and notifications. Each organisation sees only its own profile for each person.

Its own joiners. Every new joiner is checked and approved by a Manager or above before they get access, so only the right people see your organisation's information. Organisations can also limit joining to approved email domains, such as nhs.net, and ask people to verify their email address first.

Security that travels with people

Organisations can require multi-factor authentication for everyone, or only for the roles where the risk is highest, such as Admins. People set it up once and the same setup works in every organisation that asks for it, so working across organisations stays both simple and secure.

Every account is also protected against password guessing, as part of meeting our security certification and strengthening Compassly's overall security. Signing in on personal phones and shared ward devices is covered in our section on how Compassly is built around clinical users.
